This piece was inspired by the "Knotted Gun" by Swedish artist: Carl Fredrik Reutersward, in response to the shooting of his friend and celebrity, John Lennon. 

 

For my interpretation I selected the gun used by the shooter in the deadly Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting of 2016. Knotted, filled with Pink Soldiers lit up, shown standing on its head: It is a sort of pacific, put down your weapons kind of art. 

 

Materials:  multiple unique vintage, toy solders framed in a 3D lacquered black wood frame and plexiglass front protector.
